Website plans

October 16, 2018  •

I’m once again at a bit of a crossroads with this website. I relaunched it with intentions of making it a hub for all of my projects and whatnot… and then proceeded to do exactly nothing.

So I’m noting down a few things I want to work on, perhaps in an effort to hold myself accountable. Just to be even better at goal setting, let’s say I want these things done by the new year.

  • Reinstate my design portfolio. I’ve been putting this off for ages, but I just need to do it. I’m not looking for a job, or even trying particularly hard to pick up any freelance work, but it’s just a nice thing to have organised that I’ve neglected for far too long.
  • Rewrite website copy. I remember feeling as if I rushed it and that it felt clunky. So I really should try to look at it again.
  • Blog more. My relationship with blogging has been sporadic, as always. But even I look at this blog and wonder what its purpose is. Generally, it’s automated roundups of my Instagram posts with the occasional monthly life update thrown in. I’ve set the Weekly Snapshot posts to now post every 2 weeks, in an attempt to give myself a fighting chance to break things up a bit and post between them.

This will hopefully be the jumping off point toward re-establishing my favourite hobbies, working on a few little projects and generally sharing a bit more after several months of shying away from the online world.

I’ve begun looking at certain areas of my life and loosely constructing goals for the new year. Yes, I know it’s only the middle of October, but I feel like the rest of the year will fly by. It’s only a month until we’re in Rome, for example. And then a month after that is practically Christmas!

Thank you for reading!

  • Hello there! I ust wanted to let you know that I’ve been following your blog for many years now (old Snark user), through its many iterations, and I think it’s great that you are planning on blogging more!

It’s really nice to see every now and then that a few of the blogs I started reading like almost 10 years ago are still out there.

English is not my first language, so blogging has always allowed me to practice it and it also helped me to learn tons of things – from coding to, I don’t know, pop culture and gender studies.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m really grateful for letting us get to know a bit about yourself and your journey!

Awww Nathan that’s so nice to hear! Since I don’t promote my blog much I always assume it’s just a bit of a void out there. So it’s nice to know there’s someone still reading!
